Are we in Hawaii? No…we’re in Orlando at the Royal Pacific Resort. A feeling of being in a Polynesian paradise overcomes us. On select nights the Royal Pacific features a Hawaiian dinner show at the Wantilan luau.

Something for the young or not so young ones to delight in would be to dine at the Tahitian room on a Saturday morning where you can take a photo with a Despicable Me character.

Several other dining venues are available on premises to suit everyone’s taste buds.

The lagoon style pool shows itself off with white sandy beach, two hot tubs, and a volleyball court. Love competition? Join the ping-pong tournament carried on at poolside. Naturally, there are no limitations to the site of palm trees everywhere.

As if walking around the parks all day long doesn’t provide you with enough exercise, you can check out the Fitness Facility with all the customary equipment and it includes a steam/sauna room.

Not much lacking here at the beautiful Royal Pacific.

Turning the corner onto Adventure Way you will see a very colorful facade. It must be Cabana Bay Beach Resort, one of the Best Universal Studios Hotels. It has a retro style depicting the 50s and 60s.

Entering the main lobby will bring you to the Galaxy Bowl. There are ten lanes to this bowling alley equipped with a restaurant just in case you acquire an appetite after such strenuous activity. Impressive lobby, don’t you think!

Wanting to take a dip in the pool, there are two sand beach pools and one has a water slide. Included at poolside are two bars and also the Hideaway Bar and Grille.

Looking for a place to exercise you can work out at Jack LaLanne’s Physical Fitness Studio.

Brought along a large family? Cabana Bay has family suites with bathrooms large enough to accommodate three people getting ready at the same time.

The best part of staying at the Cabana Bay Beach Resort is that it allows you to enjoy early admission to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter or Universal’s Water Park, Volcano Bay before it opens to the public.

Universal’s Aventura Hotel is the most modern and stylish of all of Universal’s Resort/Hotels. The architecture is very different and eye catching. Staying here enables you to walk to the new Volcano Bay Water Park, unless you want to save your energy for playing in the water or for the exhilaration going down the water tubes. If you decide to walk to Volcano Bay from the hotel, there is a private entrance just for Aventura guests.

In the lobby there is a Contemporary Bar which is elegant, but the Bar 17 Bistro is a bar and grille on the roof top where you can observe the park sites.

The pool area doesn’t have any water slides, but you can find a hot tub, fire pit, life guards, and plenty of life jackets if you are like me and love the water, but don’t know how to swim. Boy I need to use one of those life jackets!

Aventura Hotel provides an Urban Pantry food hall with several choices of cuisine to satisfy every palate. The Pantry also has an Asian and European inspired motif and food.

Volcano Bay Water Park

Now that we visited Universal Studios Resorts/Hotels we come to the last amazing site, Volcano Bay Water Park. If you like water activities this is by far the best place to be to cool off in the summer heat. There is immeasurable fun to be had. Going to the top of the volcano and then the DROP is not for the faint of heart.

Water temperature is 85 degrees during the cooler months so you can enjoy the water tubes and all the pools here at Volcano Bay. There are many amenities throughout the water park for your enjoyment so you can experience fun in the sun.

The End of Our Vacation 

Spending two weeks visiting Universal Studios is such a short time to visit the parks. Universal offers its guests a delightful time here. There is so much to do and you are given the royal treatment no matter which hotel you choose. Between the rides and entertainment offered you will not go home disappointed. Wishing it was not the end, you will start making plans for the next vacation when you can return for more fun and adventure.
